With over a decade of industry experience, Ran co-founded 5min Media in 2007, leading it to be the largest online video syndication platform, which was acquired by AOL in September 2010. In addition to his role as CEO of 5min Media, Ran is the Senior Vice President of AOL Video, where he leads the company's efforts to increase video across its sites and oversees the distribution of content from AOL video partners.
Prior to starting 5min Media, Ran's experience included working as a writer and deputy editor at Tel-Aviv Magazine. Ran has studied Philosophy and Computer Science at Tel Aviv University after serving in the Israeli air force for 7 years. Ran currently resides in New York.
Tal came up with the 5min concept together with Ran as a way to put online video to good use, and has since been one of the leading creative forces at 5min Media. He's a former lawyer, who found practicing law boring (surprise!) and opted to substitute law with the advertising world. Tal has previously served as creative director, strategic planner and marketing consultant at McCann-Erickson.
As one of 5min Media’s co-founders, Hanan led all software and development efforts at 5min Media from its inception. Now as CTO and general manager of 5min Media’s Tel-Aviv office, Hanan continues to find new ways to bring the impossible to life. Prior to 5min Media, Hanan led a software development team at 888 Holdings.
As SVP of Business Development, Richard is responsible for biz-dev and acquisition ventures at 5min Media. Prior to joining 5min Media, Rich served as VP of Business Development and Legal Affairs at UGO Entertainment, a subsidiary of Hearst. Rich started his career as an attorney with a couple of large firms in NY, where his practice focused on media and entertainment law.
Brad is VP Video Sales for AOL and led sales at 5min Media prior to the company’s acquisition by AOL. With over 20 years of experience in media Brad previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of TidalTV, a video advertising start-up and also served as the SVP of North American sales for IPTV provider Joost. Additionally, Brad ran national sales for Massive Incorporated, a video game advertising pioneer (acquired by Microsoft) and built and led a new business development team at MTV Networks whose core mission was to diversify MTV's advertising business.
As SVP of Operations for 5min Media, Mike Srilapa is responsible for the development and execution of the company’s sales campaigns and initiatives. In addition, he oversees the company’s ad solutions, as well as its traffic and analytics groups. Prior to joining 5min Media, Mike served in similar capacities at UGO Entertainment (a subsidiary of Hearst) and Broadband Enterprises.
As head of Product at 5min Media, Sharon is responsible for creating the company’s product roadmap, and driving the production and execution of innovative new products and tools. Prior to joining 5min Media in its early stages, Sharon served in a product management role at 888 Holdings.
As VP of R&D at 5min Media, Amir leads the software development team, and is responsible for the development and the production environments serving millions of video views per day across the web. Prior to joining 5min Media, Amir served in similar management roles at Kyozou Inc. and ClickSoftware.
As VP Programming at 5min Media, Ealeal is responsible for packaging content from the vast 5min Media video library and coordinating its editorial distribution throughout the 5min Media network, as well as overseeing an editorial team. Prior to joining 5min Media as one of its first employees, Ealeal worked in a number of successful startups in the e-commerce and entertainment space and as a freelance journalist.
Evan serves as VP Content Strategy and Acquisition for 5min Media. Evan joined 5min Media in January 2008 upon raising its first institutional round with Spark Capital. As an early-stage employee and the 1st in the U.S., Evan helped open the Company’s New York City operation and Business Development team. Evan previously worked at Seed Capital Partners, an early-stage Venture firm and a Softbank Capital affiliate fund, with a focus on Media and Technology. Evan is a graduate of NYU’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business with a dual degree in Finance and Marketing, with a focus on Entertainment, Media, and Technology.
Charles is the Director of Video for AOL Sales and newly transitioned to develop the west coast market. Prior to the acquisition of 5min Media by AOL, Charles was VP of Sales and the 3rd US hire in the company. From the ground up he was instrumental in developing 5min Media’s position is the Ad community and driving all advertising revenue for the company. Before arriving at 5min Media, Charles was the Sr. Director of Business Development at Broadband Enterprises (BBE) where he managed strategic network partnerships and distribution of Original Programming.
As one of 5min Media’s first employees, Oren was responsible for efforts to drive the 5min.com website and later its platform to a leading position via ongoing online marketing efforts. Focused on growing in every possible aspect, Oren continues to drive valuable traffic to the 5min Media network and oversees product integrations.
